Who is Statyk?
After gaining respect in several aspects of the entertainment industry, Statyk decided to introduce himself to the electronic music scene.
With his best friend, Devious, at his side, Statyk began producing electronic music in mid 1998 as well as playing keyboards in a live PA
with Devious. Deciding he needed a way to get his original music out, Statyk began spinning in September of 1999.
Within 4 months, Statyk had his first residency along side DJ Proton in Clearwater, FL. Deciding after a few months that he wanted to expand
his following, Statyk left his residency to spin at St. Petersburg clubs. After a month, one of those clubs closed its doors and Statyk
was left to focus on other where he became thehead resident. Not much longer, that club was shut down by law enforcement and Statyk decided
to focus on his production once again.
After a long break from spinning, Statyk decided to take on another Residency in Clearwater. Along side Paul Santana, DJ Gazoo, and Jason
Perez, Statyk was playing one of Clearwater's most successful clubs, Club Aftermath just 2 years after his start. At the same time, Statyk
was broadcasting live on the internet wich got him some exposure in Ireland and Australia. The tragedies of 9-11 then sent Statyk back into
his studio to produce "Lift You Up" and "To The Top", which also gave him time to play out of state.
Once recovered from the tragedy, Statyk returned to the tables spinning online on Digitally Imported Afterhours. Since his start, Statyk
has produced a mountain of original tracks, has gained exposure throughout the US as well as in Russia, UK, Sweden, Denmark, and Canada,
and has spun with almost every wellestablished breakbeat DJ in Florida including Infiniti, DJ Icey, Baby Anne, Rick West, Gumbee, Raz,
R-Fresh, Mike & Charlie, Malicious Mike, and many more!
On April 16, 2003, Nth Degree Records released Statyk's collaborative work with Danish producer, DeeCoy (aka Unknown Source aka Yamino)
on vinyl under the San Diego based label. This would mark Statyk's first vinyl release. Shortly after, the track was heard all throughout
southern California as well as in upstate New York, various regions of Florida, and throughout Europe. The success of this release drove
Statyk back to the studio to complete the tracks for a full length mixed CD of original tracks and remixes. Statyk hoped to have the CD out
by the end of that year but depression and social anxiety caused him to scrap the project soon after its start.
From June through August of 2003, Statyk put all of his spare time in to his production, turning out three originals and two remixes. One
of these tracks, Silver, would be Statyk's next stepping stone. Silver was entered in to BacardiDJ's remix contest and was one of twelve
named second place tracks out of almost ten thousand entries. The remix, Hands Up (original by DJ Moon), would turn out to be a local club
favorite.
After that success, he tapped vocalist Kittie to build the side project Liquid Inzpiration. The project cranked out fan favorites Madman and
You Were which both received regional radio airplay and sparked a mini-tour of the eastern United States. Even with the success of this
project, mental health took its toll again, making Statyk decide to focus on himself and family.
His decade-long focus on family and his own mental health has given him clarity and more drive than ever. With this new drive, Statyk has
returned to production and has been brushing up on his DJ skills. On the production side, he produced remixes of Bad Guy by Billie Eilish
and In The Car by Durty Lipstik as well as 6 originals within a year. He plans to keep the streak alive and says that at this point in his
life, he is ready to tell the story of his hiatus through music.
